QUT published numerous technical reports, many of which dealt with
Modula-2, stored on their ftp server pluto.fit.qut.edu.au. The server
is gone. Does anyone know where the reports may have been archived?

QUT Research papers can be accessed from:

https://eprints.qut.edu.au/

Search for 'Gough' as a starting point

Some other relevant URLs are:

Let me know if there is a particular research paper you were looking for.

Thank you for the link. Unfortunately, the reports do not seem to be there.

The NZDL lists 14 of them
(http://www.nzdl.org/cgi-bin/library.cgi?e=d-00000-00---off-0cstr--00-0----0-10-0---0---0direct-10---4-------0-1l--11-en-50---20-about---00-0-1-00-0-0-11-1-0utfZz-8-00&a=d&c=cstr&cl=CL1.254
-- sorry for the long URL) but all references are to the former FTP site.

They have converted them to text but, frankly, the result is very
difficult to understand. (Here is one example:

I've found some more PDFs by K John Gough here:

Paul Roe was a collaborator on Gardens Point compilers:
